Kia ora, I’m TeWhetu - a world-class performance coach, who understands people - how they think, what drives them and how to unlock their potential. As a proud Ngāti Tūwharetoa rāua ko Ngāti Porou descendant, I help leaders move past the fear of getting it ‘wrong,’ when it comes to integrating Māori approaches into their practice. Just call me a ‘hearty Ngāti,’ who is passionate about sharing that heart and knowledge with others!

As founder of Ārahi NZ - which means to guide - I lead with the Māori values of tika, pono and aroha - doing what is right, with integrity and compassion. These principles guide everything I do.

With over 20 years experience as a coach and people leader, I have helped 500+ individuals achieve their goals, build high performing teams at their workplaces, and create lasting change in their lives. I hold a Master’s degree in Applied Professional Practice, majoring in Adult Teaching, a Bachelor of Education, and a National Diploma in Youth Work - all of which has allowed me to provide stand-out coaching services, underpinned by tikanga me õna kaupapa Māori.

I combine my professional training with lived experience of overcoming my own challenges, including depression, a 40-year battle with endometriosis and living with debilitating pain, and the trials and tribulations of being a solo-mother. I absolutely love sharing the strategies that have got me through tough times, including the principles of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) - where I help individuals become more aware of their thoughts, language and habits, so they can modify unhelpful patterns and behaviors. As a certified Neuro Linguistic Programming Practitioner (NLP), my approach is grounded in life changing and evidence-based techniques.

Having raised three successful, kind and all around amazing adult sons, I practice the very principles that I teach my clients.
