My Journey
Dear Reader.
If life has thrown you a lemon (or 10), or you have been struggling just to make it through each day in one piece , I am sending out big virtual hugs. And, I just want to tell you that it’s okay not to be okay, and that you are not alone.
In 2017, I had to leave my job, after reaching burnout (I think that’s the nicer term for, ‘having a nervous breakdown.’ Well that’s what the nurse at my respite center said anyway). I was bed-ridden from multiple surgeries, living in pain and mentally in a very dark place. There were days where I went to sleep praying that I would not wake up. To top it all off, I was on a work and income benefit, and had to deal with a terrible case worker who treated me extremely poorly.
By the time 2019 rolled around , I was not only depressed and unemployed, but broke and heavily in debt.
After coaching others for 20 years, I had to dig deep within, and practise the very strategies that I had taught my clients, so I could overcome depression, reclaim my mana and get my life back.
Six years later, I am healthy, financially stable, getting paid to do what I love (coaching), and am happier than I have ever been.
